OBJECTIVES: Systematically measuring the work environment of healthcare employees is key to continuously improving the quality of care and addressing staff shortages. In this study, we systematically analyse the responses to the one open-ended question posed in the Dutch version of the Culture of Care Barometer (CoCB-NL) to examine (1) if the responses offered new insights into healthcare employees' perceptions of their work environment and (2) if the original CoCB had any themes missing. DESIGN: Retrospective text analysis using Rigorous and Accelerated Data Reduction technique. SETTING: University hospital in the Netherlands using the CoCB-NL as part of the annual employee survey. PARTICIPANTS: All hospital employees were invited to participate in the study (N=14 671). In total, 2287 employees responded to the open-ended question. RESULTS: 2287 comments were analysed. Comments that contained more than one topic were split according to topic, adding to the total (n=2915). Of this total, 372 comments were excluded because they lacked content or respondents indicated they had nothing to add. Subsequently, 2543 comments were allocated to 33 themes. Most comments (n=2113) addressed the 24 themes related to the close-ended questions in the CoCB-NL. The themes most commented on concerned questions on 'organisational support'. The remaining 430 comments covered nine additional themes that addressed concerns about work environment factors (team connectedness, team effectiveness, corporate vision, administrative burden and performance pressure) and themes (diversity and inclusion, legal frameworks and collective bargaining, resilience and work-life balance, and personal matters). CONCLUSIONS: Analysing responses to the open-ended question in the CoCB-NL led to new insights into relevant elements of the work environment and missing themes in the COCB-NL. Moreover, the analysis revealed important themes that not only require attention from healthcare organisations to ensure adequate improvements in their employees' work environment but should also be considered to further develop the CoCB-NL.

BACKGROUND: Sweden recently adopted new labor induction guidelines lowering the threshold for post-term pregnancies to 41+ weeks. Despite evidence-based foundation, these guidelines stirred controversy among maternity care professionals, who voiced concerns about potential risks and unintended consequences, such as a rising Caesarean section rate. Midwives also highlighted potential impacts on their roles, workload, and working environment; implications that could affect obstetricians and gynecologists as well. Investigating Swedish maternity care professionals' views on labor induction could benefit policymakers, managers, and birthing women alike. AIM: The aim of this study was to describe and compare midwives to obstetricians/gynecologists, with regards to their views on labor induction, and how this relates to other work-related variables such as overall job satisfaction, clinical experience, gender, age, personality, and workload. METHODS: Swedish midwives (N = 207, 99 % women, M = 45.2 years), and obstetricians/gynecologists (N = 240, 83 % women, M = 44.3 years) responded to an online questionnaire reflecting aspects of maternity care work. The data was analyzed using Welch's t-test and Pearson's correlation analysis. RESULTS: A large difference was observed in labor induction views between midwives and obstetricians/gynecologists (d = 1.39), as well as lower job satisfaction with midwives (d = -0.26). Overall job satisfaction further correlated negatively with views on labor induction (r = -0.30). CONCLUSIONS: Labor inductions might pose challenges to midwives and could bring to light underlying tensions between obstetricians/gynecologists and midwives. Given the modest response rate of the study, we cautiously suggest that while the development of new maternity care guidelines should be grounded in evidence, they should also embrace concerns and insights from a diversity of professional perspectives.

BACKGROUND: Violence against physicians in the workplace is a prevalent global issue, and Bangladesh is no exception. Such violence significantly disrupts healthcare delivery and the attainment of universal health coverage. This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the prevalence, nature and associated risk factors of workplace violence (WPV) against physicians in Bangladesh. METHODS: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at a public tertiary care hospital involving 441 physicians with a minimum tenure of 6 months. Data were gathered through a structured self-reported questionnaire, and statistical analyses were performed by using SPSS V.25. RESULTS: Out of the surveyed physicians, 67.3% (n=297) reported experiencing violence, categorised as 84.5% psychological, 13.5% physical and 2% sexual in nature. Predominant forms of psychological violence included bullying (48.8%) and threats (40.1%). The mean age of exposed physicians was 32.5±4.3 (SD) years. Those working in the emergency unit (45.8%), surgery and allied departments (54.2%), engaging in rotating shift work (70%), morning shifts (59.6%) and postgraduate trainees (68%) were frequently subjected to violence. Factors significantly associated with WPV included placement in surgery and allied departments (p<0.001), working rotating shifts (p<0.001), marital status (p=0.011) and being a male physician (p=0.010). Perpetrators were primarily identified as relatives of patients (66%). Working in rotating shifts (adjusted OR(AOR):2.6, 95% CI:1.2 to 5.4) and surgery and allied departments (AOR:5.7, 95% CI:3.4 to 9.8) emerged as significant risk factors of violence against physicians. CONCLUSION: A higher proportion of physicians at the early to mid-level stages of their careers, especially those in rotating shifts and surgery-related departments, reported incidence of WPV. Urgent intervention from policy-makers and healthcare entities is imperative to implement preventive measures. Strengthening security measures, establishing antiviolence policies and providing comprehensive training programmes are crucial steps towards ensuring a safer work environment for healthcare professionals.

INTRODUCTION: Rationing of nursing care, whichrefers to the aspects of care not delivered by nurses in an intensive care unit (ICU), has implicationsfor patient outcomes and experiences. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to identify the extent to which nursing care is rationed in intensive care units, as well as asses quality of nursing care, and the level of job satisfaction and its correlation with an assessment of the climate of work safety, teamwork, and a healthy work environment. METHODOLOGY: A cross-sectional, correlational study was conducted. The study included 226 ICU nurses. It was conducted with the use of three instruments: the Perceived Implicit Rationing of Nursing Care (PRINCA) questionnaire on the rationing of nursing care, assessment of patient care quality and job satisfaction, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool (HWEAT) and the Safe Attitudes and Behaviours Questionnaire questionnaire in the version: Teamwork and Safety Climate (BePoZa). SETTINGS: Intensive Care Units in Warmia and Mazury Region in Poland. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Level of Nursing Care Rationing in Intensive Care Units. RESULTS: The majority of participants were women (89.82 %) with a mean age of 42.47 years. The average score for nursing care rationing across all groups was 0.58. The mean score for the HWEAT was 2.7 and BePoZa was 3.72. The scores from the questionnaires were negatively correlated with the nursing care rationing scores, being -0.36 for the HWEAT and -0.45 for BePoZa. All correlation coefficients were statistically significant at a p-value of less than 0.05. CONCLUSIONS: It is important to monitor work safety, teamwork climate, and standards of a healthy work environment in ICUs to minimise the risk of rationing nursing care. IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: Interventions that enhance work organisation and teamwork can elevate nursing quality and job satisfaction in ICUs, while underestimating patient care tasks; thus, highlighting the need for further research on the factors influencing nursing performance.

PURPOSE: This project compared the time to complete investigational prescription drug order verification by investigational drug service (IDS) pharmacists in an onsite vs offsite (hybrid) staffing model, evaluating the impact of remote work on verification time. METHODS: Parenteral IDS drug orders from August 2019 through June 2022 were analyzed. Electronic medical records were timestamped for each order, first verification, second verification, and medication administration. The project was divided into four 6-month time periods to allow for 2 independent comparisons of onsite vs hybrid staffing models. A survey was given retrospectively to IDS pharmacists for the last hybrid timeframe to assess work satisfaction and burnout. RESULTS: A total of 4,398 orders were evaluated. The time from order entry to first verification was 14 minutes (n = 1,248) during the first onsite time period compared to 13 minutes (n = 1,042) during the first hybrid period (P = 0.003). The time for order verification was similar between the second onsite and hybrid periods (12 minutes [n = 1,041] vs 10 minutes [n= 1,067], respectively; P < 0.0001). The staff satisfaction survey for the hybrid model showed high levels of job satisfaction and no self-reported burnout. CONCLUSION: The remote hybrid staffing model did not result in a meaningful change in the time from order placement to medication administration within the IDS pharmacy. Hybrid staffing also resulted in greater job satisfaction among IDS pharmacists. This study highlights the benefits of implementing remote work practices in the pharmacy practice setting.

Antecedentes y objetivos: La calidad de vida profesional se define como el bienestar derivado del equilibrio entre las exigencias del ámbito laboral y los recursos para afrontarlas, el deterioro de la calidad de vida profesional puede contribuir en el síndrome de burnout o del profesional quemado. El objetivo de este estudio consiste en evaluar mediante cuestionario validado la calidad de vida profesional de los dermatólogos españoles. Material y métodos: Se diseñó un estudio transversal que incluyó dermatólogos españoles que respondieran a un formulario autoadministrado enviado a través de aplicaciones de mensajería online. El formulario incluyó datos sociodemográficos, 3 preguntas de respuestas abiertas y el Cuestionario de Calidad de Vida Profesional (CVP-35). Resultados: Se incluyó a 106 participantes en este estudio, siendo un 58% (62/106) mujeres. La edad media fue de 41 años (intervalo de confianza [IC] del 95%: 43,3-38,8). Las puntuaciones para el dominio «carga de trabajo» de CVP-35 fueron superiores en las mujeres (p=0,02) y en los jefes de servicio (p=0,005). La presión asistencial fue el tema tratado con más frecuencia como factor limitante de la calidad de vida laboral, y el principal cambio identificado tras la pandemia de COVID-19. Conclusiones: En nuestro estudio las mujeres refirieron una mayor carga de trabajo. El incremento de carga asistencial y de trabajo a distancia fueron los principales cambios por la pandemia de COVID-19. La presión asistencial es una gran limitante de la calidad de vida profesional de nuestros compañeros, reducirla mejoraría la satisfacción diaria y la calidad asistencial. (AU)

Heavy caseloads and more remote work were the main changes identified after the COVID-19 pandemic. Heavy caseloads have a significant impact on the QPL of dermatologists in Spain. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to explore factors associated with healthcare professionals' subjective perceptions of complex issues in primary care settings in Japan. DESIGN: Cross-sectional survey conducted through a self-administered web-based questionnaire. SETTING: Japan, from June to October 2020. PARTICIPANTS: Healthcare professionals recruited via an email list from the Japan Primary Care Association. MEASURES: The questionnaire assessed subjective perception of satisfaction, confidence and burden regarding complex issues using a 100 mm Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Explanatory variables included the Japanese version of the Self-assessment Scale of Interprofessional Competency (JASSIC), basic demographic information, administrative experience and an organisational climate scale. This scale comprised the 'Plan, Do, See' (PDS) factor for management and the 'Do' factor in a leader-centred direction for those working under compulsion. Factors associated with subjective perceptions were analysed using binomial logistic regression analysis and Bonferroni analysis (p<0.017). RESULTS: Data from 593 participants (average age of 41.2 years, including 133 nurses, 128 physicians and 120 social workers) were analysed. Median (quartile) VAS scores for satisfaction, confidence and burden were 50 (36-70), 52 (40-70) and 50 (30-66), respectively. Higher satisfaction group was significantly associated with PDS factor, Do factor and JASSIC Score. Greater confidence group associated with older age, male, Do factor, administrative experience and JASSIC Score. No factors were significantly associated with the higher perceived burden. CONCLUSION: These findings reveal that interprofessional competency self-assessment influence perceptions of complex issues among healthcare professionals. Moreover, satisfaction with complex issues might be enhanced by a manageable organisational climate, while confidence might be influenced by personal attributes.

INTRODUCTION: This paper will describe the research protocol for the Deadly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nursing and Midwifery Mentoring (DANMM) Project, which will determine the feasibility and acceptability of a cultural mentoring programme designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives across five diverse local health districts in New South Wales, Australia. Government and health agencies highlight the importance of culturally appropriate and safe environments for Aboriginal people. Specifically, New South Wales Health prioritises workforce strategies that support Aboriginal people to enter and stay in the health workforce. However, retaining Aboriginal nurses and midwives remains challenging. The DANMM Project aligns with these local and state-wide health plans and strategies, addressing critical issues of workforce cultural safety and retention. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: A mixed-methods study design will be employed to assess feasibility, acceptability and preliminary efficacy of the DANMM Programme across five publicly funded local health districts in New South Wales, Australia. Adhering to cultural safety, a project cultural governance group will be formed. Quantitative outcome measures include the use of questionnaires (Nursing Workplace Satisfaction Questionnaire, Ganngaleh nga Yagaleh Cultural Safety assessment tool). Resource implications will be measured using the Organisational Commitment and Health Professional Program Readiness Assessment Compass. These will be triangulated with individual and group yarning circles to provide a holistic evaluation of the programme. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: The study has ethics approval: Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (#2054/23); New South Wales Health Human Research Committees (Greater Western Human Research Committee #2022/ETH01971, Murrumbidgee-site-specific approval, Sydney Local Health District-site-specific approval, Western Sydney Local Health District-site-specific approval and Mid North Coast-site-specific approval); and Charles Sturt University Human Research Committee (#2054/23). Findings will be disseminated through peer-reviewed articles, conferences and through roundtable discussions with key stakeholders.

Background: This article provides an update of the Reflective Practice Questionnaire (RPQ). The original RPQ consisted of 40-items with 10-sub-scales. In this article, the RPQ is streamlined into a 10-item single reflective practice construct, and a 30-item extended version that includes additional sub-scales of confidence, uncertainty/stress, and work satisfaction. Methods: A total of 501 university students filled out an online questionnaire that contained the original Reflective Practice Questionnaire, and two general measures of reflection: The Self-Reflection and Insight Scale, and the Rumination-Reflection Questionnaire. Results: Based on factor analysis, the RPQ was streamlined into a brief 10-item version, and an extended 30-item version. Small positive correlations were found between the RPQ reflective practice measure and the two measures of general reflection, providing discriminant validity evidence for the RPQ. The RPQ was found to be sensitive to differences among industries, whereas the general measures of reflection were not. Average reflective practice scores were higher for health and education industries compared to retail and food/accommodation industries.

OBJECTIVES: Aim of this study was to assess and compare health, quality of life, well-being, job satisfaction and job insecurity between nurses, in a tertiary hospital in Greece, working either under permanent or temporary contract. MATERIAL AND METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, consecutively recruited nurses answered a structured questionnaire, the WHO-5 Well-being Index (WHO-5), the Job Insecurity Index (JII), the Work Ability Index (WAI), and the Well-Being at Work Scale (WBWS). RESULTS: Included were 323 nurses (87.6% women, age M±SD 43.68±8.10 years). Tem- porary contract employees had worse quality of life (p = 0.009) and higher job insecurity: both in cognitive dimension (p = 0.013) and emotional dimension (p < 0.001). They also scored worse in the positive affect (p < 0.001), negative affect (p = 0.002) and fulfillment of expectations in work environment (p < 0.001) domains of the WBWS. Additionally, they reported less frequently occupational accidents and injuries (p = 0.001), muscu - loskeletal disorders of the spine or neck (p = 0.007), cardiovascular (p = 0.017), and gastrointestinal (p = 0.010) disorders, while they reported more frequently mental disorders (p < 0.001). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that temporary work predicted high cognitive (p = 0.010) and emotional (p < 0.001) insecurity, low positive emotions and mood index (p = 0.007), low achievement-fulfillment index (p = 0.047) and high index of negative emotions (p = 0.006), regardless of gender and age. CONCLUSIONS: Temporary employment among nurses is associated with a lower sense of job security and well-being, and a higher prevalence of mental disorders, independently of age or gender without a significantly negative effect on their ability to work. Managers, as well as occupational physicians, should recognize the extent of nurses' job insecurity and assess their ability to work, to provide them with the necessary support and to stimulate the sense of occupational security and work capacity, so that they can thrive in their workplace and therefore be more productive and provide high quality healthcare. El presente estudio aborda la situación profesional y laboral de los farmacéuticos comunitarios de Gipuzkoa. Se han realizado las siguientes acciones: 1) Grupo de discusión entre farmacéuticos titulares y adjuntos, 2) Encuesta sobre satisfacción y conciliación de los farmacéuticos colegiados ejercientes en farmacia comunitaria y 3) Análisis de los motivos de las bajas de colegiación de los últimos 3 años. Se han realizado análisis cuantitativos y cualitativos. Se observa una problemática multifactorial que incluye dificultad de contratación de farmacéutico adjuntos, conciliación, falta de satisfacción y desarrollo profesional, horarios y otras condiciones laborales. La satisfacción profesional y la conciliación de los farmacéuticos titulares es mayor que la de los farmacéuticos adjuntos (p<0,001), aunque la conciliación no sea favorable para ninguno de los dos colectivos profesionales. La conciliación se percibe como mejor en farmacias de horario continuado, frente a farmacias con horario partido. El 70,5 % (n=67) de los farmacéuticos que se han dado de baja del colegio en los últimos 3 años, lo han hecho para cambiar de ámbito profesional, siendo educación e industria las opciones más frecuentes. La situación profesional y laboral del farmacéutico ejerciente en farmacia comunitaria requiere de una reflexión profunda para poder plantear estrategias globales que mejoren la satisfacción profesional y conciliación. The purpose of this study is to explore the professional and working conditions of community pharmacists in the province of Gipuzkoa. The methodology employed involved: 1) A discussion with owner pharmacists and associate pharmacists, 2) A survey on satisfaction and work-life balance of pharmacists working in community pharmacies, and 3) Analysis of the reasons for cancelling membership of the association of pharmacists in the last 3 years. Data were analysed qualitatively and quantitatively. There was evidence of a range of issues including difficulty in recruiting associate pharmacists, unfavourable work-life balance, low job satisfaction and lack of professional development, poor business hours and other working conditions. Owner pharmacists reported a higher level of job satisfaction and work-life balance than associate pharmacists (p<0.001). However, both groups had a poor work-life balance. The issue of work-life balance is seen as being better in pharmacies with continuous business hours, as opposed to those with split (morning/afternoon) hours. Seventy percent (n=67) of pharmacists who cancelled their membership of the association over the last three years moved to another professional domain, particularly education and industry. In-depth deliberation is required into the professional and working situation of pharmacists working in community pharmacies, with a view to positing global strategies to improve job satisfaction and work-life balance. OBJECTIVES: To a) identify threshold values of presenteeism measurement instruments that reflect unacceptable work state in employed r-axSpA patients; b) determine whether those thresholds accurately predict future adverse work outcomes (AWO) (sick leave or short/long-term disability); c) evaluate the performance of traditional health-outcomes for r-axSpA; d) explore whether thresholds are stable across contextual factors. METHODS: Data from the multinational AS-PROSE study was used. Thresholds to determine whether patients consider themselves in an 'unacceptable work state' were calculated at baseline for four instruments assessing presenteeism and two health-outcomes specific for r-axSpA. Different approaches derived from the receiver operating characteristic methodology were used. Validity of the optimal thresholds was tested across contextual factors and for predicting future AWO over 12 months. RESULTS: Of 366 working patients, 15% reported an unacceptable work state; 6% experienced at least one AWO in 12 months. Optimal thresholds were: WPAI-presenteeism ≥40 (AUC 0.85), QQ-method <97 (0.76), WALS ≥0.75 (AUC 0.87), WLQ-25 ≥ 29 (AUC 0.85). BASDAI and BASFI performed similarly to the presenteeism instruments: ≥4.7 (AUC 0.82) and ≥3.5 (AUC 0.79), respectively. Thresholds for WALS and WLQ-25 were stable across contextual factors, while for all other instruments they overestimated unacceptable work state in lower educated persons. Proposed thresholds could also predict future AWO, although with lower performance, especially for QQ-method, BASDAI and BASFI. CONCLUSIONS: Thresholds of measurement instruments for presenteeism and health status to identify unacceptable work state have been established. These thresholds can help in daily clinical practice to provide work related support to r-axSpA patients at risk for AWO.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Quality of professional life (QPL) is defined as a sense of well-being derived from a balance between the challenges of work and the resources available to deal with them. Impaired QPL can contribute to burnout. The aim of this study was to evaluate QPL in Spanish dermatologists using a validated questionnaire. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We designed a cross-sectional study in which Spanish dermatologists were invited to complete an online questionnaire sent out by messaging applications. The dermatologists were asked to provide sociodemographic information, answer 3 open questions, and complete the 35-item Spanish QPL questionnaire (Spanish abbreviation, CVP-35). RESULTS: We analyzed the information submitted by 106 dermatologists (62 women, 58%) with a mean age of 41 years (95% CI, 43.3-38.8 years). Women and department heads scored significantly higher in the workload domain of the questionnaire (P=.02 and P=.005, respectively). A heavy caseload was mentioned as the main factor contributing to impaired QPL and the main change in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. CONCLUSIONS: Female dermatologists reported heavier workloads. Heavy caseloads and more remote work were the main changes identified after the COVID-19 pandemic. Heavy caseloads have a significant impact on the QPL of dermatologists in Spain. Reducing caseloads would improve general job satisfaction and quality of care provision.

BACKGROUND: Effective leadership plays a pivotal role in healthcare settings, particularly in the fast-paced and high-pressure environment of the emergency room, as it is closely linked to patient safety and the overall quality of care. This study assessed the mediating role of work satisfaction in the relationship between nurses' perceptions of their nurse managers' transformational leadership, reported adverse patient events, and the nurse-assessed quality of care in the emergency units. METHODS: A cross-sectional survey design was carried out involving 283 emergency room nurses from the Philippines, utilizing standardized scales. Mediation testing was performed using Hayes' PROCESS macro in SPSS (Model 4). RESULTS: Emergency room nurses perceived their nurse managers as highly transformational. Nurses' perceptions of transformational leadership in their nurse managers were associated with a reduction in reported adverse patient events and an increase in nurse-assessed nursing care quality. Work satisfaction partially mediated the relationship between transformational leadership and nurse-assessed nursing care quality, but it did not serve as a mediator between transformational leadership and reported adverse patient events. CONCLUSION: The results suggested that enhancing transformational leadership behaviors among nurse leaders can foster work satisfaction in ER nurses, which, in effect, contributes to enhanced nursing quality of care provision in emergency settings.

Purpose: the aim of this paper is to analyze the evolution of understanding of hybrid telework, especially after the boom experienced in the global pandemic of COVID-19, which has given rise to new ways of working. Design: /methodology/approach: in this study, bibliometrics and scientific mapping were used to analyze the conceptual structure of hybrid telework based on 104 documents extracted from the Web of Science (WoS) database. Thanks to the co-word analysis performed with SciMAT, the main themes were mapped, and the evolution, importance and relevance of terms related to hybrid telework were identified. Findings: the body of research literature about hybrid telework is underdeveloped even though it is the most valued option of telework, both by organizations and employees. There is a lack of published studies in the public sphere and in such relevant fields as occupational health. Practical implications: this study is the first bibliometric analysis conducted for hybrid telework and demonstrates how hybrid telework is key for organizations to manage the emerging challenges in this field: new preferences from employment candidates, occupational health, etc, and how important it is to have a proper management of hybrid telework in organizations. Originality/value: this study explores in detail the evolution of hybrid telework, an underexplored telework modality, given its growth as a mode of work as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. It reveals critical points, dilemmas, paradoxes, and research gaps.

INTRODUCTION: Toxic leadership is a prevalent issue within health care organizations, including emergency departments. No studies have been found specifically examining these issues among emergency nurses. This study examined the mediating effects of work-family conflict on the relationship between toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers and psychological distress and work satisfaction among emergency nurses. METHODS: A cross-sectional survey was used to gather data from 285 Filipino emergency nurses, using 4 validated measures. Mediation analyses were conducted using the PROCESS Macro with Model 4. RESULTS: Toxic leadership had a direct negative effect on work satisfaction (ß = -0.3313, P<.001) and a direct positive effect on psychological distress (ß = 0.0945, P = .0491). Work-family conflict partially mediated the relationship between toxic leadership and both psychological distress (ß = 0.0217, SE = .0141, 95% CI = 0.0002-0.0538) and work satisfaction (ß = -0.0438, SE = 0.0216, 95% CI = -0.0884 to -0.0049). DISCUSSION: The study findings highlighted the negative influence of toxic leadership behaviors on the overall work satisfaction and psychological well-being of emergency nurses. In addition, this study identified work-family conflict as a mechanism that explained how the toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers influenced the psychological well-being and job satisfaction of emergency nurses. The results of this study underscore the need for interventions and strategies to address toxic leadership and mitigate the negative consequences it poses to emergency nurses' well-being.

Introducción: La COVID-19 provocó cambios laborales e influyó en el comportamiento de los docentes universitarios. Objetivo: Describir el bienestar y la salud ocupacional de profesores universitarios en la formación investigativa mediante el teletrabajo. Métodos: Se realizó un análisis sistemático mediante la metodología PRISMA que incluyó todo el año 2022 y los primeros meses del 2023. Con los artículos incluidos se aplicó la herramienta de búsqueda bibliográfica en línea Litmaps. Asimismo, se empleó un cuestionario y posteriormente la escala de Likert. El instrumento se validó con el coeficiente alfa de Cronbach y se consideró la prueba t de una muestra para probar como hipótesis descriptiva si el bienestar y la salud ocupacional desde la formación investigativa en docentes universitarios mediante el teletrabajo eran satisfactorios. Resultados: En el estudio, 41,2 % de los artículos de revisión e investigación seleccionados con la metodología PRISMA correspondieron al año 2022; sin embargo, el 50,0 % de los artículos semillas fueron del 2023, donde su análisis mapa indicó que no hubo citas de correspondencias. En cuanto al resultado de la valoración con la escala de Likert y luego con la prueba de hipótesis, se obtuvo insatisfacción en los profesores respecto a la formación investigativa mediante el teletrabajo. Conclusiones: Existió insatisfacción respecto al bienestar y la salud ocupacional para la formación investigativa desde el teletrabajo porque los docentes universitarios consideraban que las condiciones laborales no fueron favorables.


Introduction: COVID-19 caused job changes and influenced the behavior of university professors. Objective: To describe well-being and occupational health in research training of university professors through teleworking. Methods: A systematic analysis was carried out using the PRISMA methodology that included the entire year 2022 and the first months of 2023. The online bibliographic search tool Litmaps was applied to the included articles. Likewise, a questionnaire was used and subsequently the Likert scale. The instrument was validated with Cronbach's alpha coefficient and the one-sample T-test was considered as a descriptive hypothesis whether well-being and occupational health from research training in university professors through teleworking were satisfactory. Results: In the study, 41.2% of the review and research articles selected with the PRISMA methodology corresponded to the year 2022; however, 50.0% of the seed articles were from 2023, where their map analysis indicated that there were no citations of correspondences. Regarding the result of the assessment with the Likert scale and then with the hypothesis test, dissatisfaction was obtained among professors concerning research training through teleworking. Conclusions: There was dissatisfaction regarding well-being and occupational health for research training through teleworking because university professors considered that working conditions were not favorable.

Workplace incivility is a challenging global occupational risk that is frequently considered trivial by managers and organizations. Often, complaints from targets are ignored; when this occurs, complaints can quickly escalate into formal grievances that cost businesses millions of dollars. While existing studies have uncovered cultural and gendered differences in how targets and organizations respond to workplace incivility, few cross-cultural studies have empirically examined how targets and organizations react to formal complaints. This study responds to this gap by using selective incivility, the transactional stress model, and national/cultural theories to conduct a multifaceted analysis of the underlying mechanisms responsible for targets' organizational outcomes. Specifically, we tested a moderated model with 303 Australian (152 males and 151 females) and 304 Singaporean (154 males and 150 females) employees working in multinational organizations to determine whether the degree to which organizations took incivility complaints seriously moderated the organizational outcomes of work withdrawal and work satisfaction. Overall, the results indicated that, compared to Singaporean employees and Australian female employees, Australian male employees were less tolerant of being mistreated and continued to experience heightened job dissatisfaction and withdrawal even when their complaints were taken seriously by their organization. These results suggest that complex gendered and cultural differences influence the impact of incivility complaints on work-related outcomes.
